Megan Griffiths (born April 22, 1975 in Athens , Ohio ) is an American filmmaker , cinematographer , director and screenwriter who lives in Seattle , Washington and is a board member of the Northwest Film Forum.

Youth and education

Griffiths was born in Athens, Ohio, but spent her teenage years in Moscow , Idaho, where she graduated from high school and studied at the University of Idaho , which she graduated with a BA in Visual Communications in 1997.

Griffiths received an MFA in Film Production from the Ohio University School of Film in 2000/2001. Already during her student days she wrote excellent scripts, which she also implemented as a director and for which she received several awards.
