Megan Hodge (born October 15, 1988 in Saint Thomas , US Virgin Islands ) is an American volleyball player . She won the Olympic silver medal in 2012.
Career
Hodge's parents Michael and Carmen were American Virgin Islands volleyball players. However, she herself began her sporting career with jumping rope and took part in the 2002 World Championships in this discipline. At Riverside High School in Durham, North Carolina , she came to volleyball. The outside attacker won the NORCECA championship with the US juniors in 2004. The following year she took part in the U20 World Cup. During her studies, she was part of the team at Pennsylvania State University from 2006 to 2009 . In 2010, Hodge made her debut in the senior team , with which she won the Grand Prix . After initially playing in Puerto Rico with Criollas de Caguas , she moved to the Italian club MC-Carnaghi Villa Cortese for the 2010/11 season . In 2011 she won the Italian Cup with Villa Cortese. Internationally, she defended her title at the Grand Prix with the US team and won the NORCECA championship . In addition, the national team reached second place in the World Cup . The following season she played in Poland for Trefl Sopot . With the club she became Polish champion in 2012. The USA won the Grand Prix for the third time in a row . Then Hodge took part in the Olympic Games and won the silver medal. After the tournament she moves to Azerbaijan to Azerrail Baku .
