Mehmet Ali Erbil (born February 8, 1957 in Istanbul , Turkey ) is a Turkish actor , comedian and show master .

life and work

His grandfather comes from what is now the Iraqi-Kurdish area around Arbil , from which the family name is derived. Mehmet Ali Erbil was born in 1957 in Istanbul as the son of the Turkish theater and film actor Saadettin Erbil. After completing his school education in Istanbul, Ankara and Balıkesir , he enrolled in the Ankara State Conservatory, where, like his father, he learned the profession of theater actor.

After completing his training, he took a position in the state theater. Due to his successful performances, he received the first offers from television stations in the early 1980s. First from the state television broadcaster TRT , where he co-hosted an entertainment show, and later from various private broadcasters such as ATV, Show TV or InterStar. He accepted offers of soap operas as an actor as well as entertainment shows as a presenter and has been considered one of the most popular show masters in the country since the 1990s.

Recently he has continued to pursue these offers from soap operas and entertainment shows. In contrast to earlier times, however, it appears more frequently in movies. Most of these films are new editions of old film series such as the Hababam Sınıfı film series. He hosted several entertainment shows, including Çarkıfelek ( Wheel of Fortune ) as the successor to Tarık Tarcan and 50 Sarışın (50 blondes).

He is married and has three children. Erbil also suffers from capillary leak syndrome, which is relatively rare .
