The Chaotic Class (Original title: Hababam Sınıfı ) is a Turkish comedy film by Ertem Eğilmez from 1974 and is the first film in the Hababam Sınıfı series. The film is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Rıfat Ilgaz . The film is about a high school class from a private school whose students are both rich and incompetent.

The chaotic class is a classic of Turkish cinema and is still very popular in Turkey today. The film is shown regularly on television to this day. The actor Kemal Sunal had his first major film role in this film and achieved his breakthrough as an actor.

action

A group of young rich men live in a renowned boarding school. Instead of studying for school, students tease their teachers with pranks and infuriate the new principal.

Sequels

After the success of the first film, other sequels were made.

  1. Hababam Sınıfı Sınıfta Kaldı (1975)
  2. Hababam Sınıfı Uyanıyor (1976)
  3. Hababam Sınıfı Tatilde (1977)
  4. Hababam Sınıfı Dokuz Doğuruyor (1978)
  5. Hababam Sınıfı Güle Güle (1981)
  6. Hababam Sinifi Merhaba (2003)
  7. The Chaotic Army (Hababam Sınıfı Askerde) (2004)
  8. The Chaotic Class 3.5 (Hababam Sınıfı Üç Buçuk) (2005)

The first six films were filmed from 1974 to 1981 under the direction of Ertem Eğilmez and are still shown frequently on Turkish television today. In 2003, after a long break, the series was continued with a new line-up. However, these were by far not as successful as the films with the first cast, because the comedy and the individual characters of the films that were shot up to 1981 could not be replaced. This is not a reproach to the new generation of filmmakers, because for the Turkish viewers “Hababam Sınıfı” could not have been “Hababam Sınıfı” without Kemal Sunal, and the new episodes could never have repeated the success.
