The Meiji Gakuin University ( Japanese 明治 学院 大学 , Meiji gakuin daigaku ) was founded in 1863 as a Christian university in Tokyo and Yokohama . The founder and its first president was the American Presbyterian priest James Curtis Hepburn . The university buildings are spread over two campuses : Shirokane in Tokyo and Yokohama Campus in Yokohama.
