Life

Meike Ziervogel grew up in Northern Germany . Today she lives in London . She studied Arabic language and literature and then worked as a journalist. a. for Reuters (London) and Agence France-Presse ( Paris ). She has been a publisher at Peirene Press since 2008. In 2013 she published her debut novel Magda , a (fictionalized) novel biography by Magda Goebbels , the wife of Joseph Goebbels . The novel was in 2013 in the lists of the Books of the Year (books of the year) of the Irish Times and the Observer added. Magda was translated into German by Martin Thomas Pesl . The novel was published in February 2015 by Edition Atelier , Vienna . The novel was also translated into Polish. In Poland , the novel was number 6 on the national bestseller list in January 2015. In 2014 Ziervogel published another novel with Clara's Daughter .
