The milestone in Hoym is a small monument of the city of Seeland in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

Because Anhalt is quite elongated from east to west, it also has milestones in the western part near the Harz Mountains that have two-digit distances. Such a Anhalt round base stone is located on the north side of the street in Quedlinburger Strasse in Hoym . The milestones of Anhalt were initially set up in the miles system. The Anhalt mile corresponded to the Prussian mile , i.e. it was 7.532 kilometers long. Later it was partially implemented in the kilometer system.

The distance indicator in Hoym is a 10-mile stone that is exactly 75 kilometers from Dessau. Without this distance, its classification would be more difficult, as it no longer seems to have any legible inscriptions. On the other hand, one can assume an original location as a milestone. In 1996, the stone on what was then federal road 6 (today state road 85 ) was moved 900 meters towards the center of the village. However, it was so unfavorably positioned there that a traffic accident with the stone in 1999 led to it being brought back to its original location. It is under monument protection and has the registration number 094 95387 in the monument register .
