The milestone in the north of Bernburg is a small monument in the town of Bernburg (Saale) in the Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt .

A round base stone in the north of Bernburg cannot be assigned with absolute certainty. It is on Magdeburger Chaussee at the exit of the town in the direction of the state capital on the corner of Herta-Lindner-Straße on the eastern side of the street. The 91 centimeter high milestone is obviously not part of the road that was built between 1792 and 1795, because round base stones were still unusual at that time. Thus, the stone that does not have any recognizable inscriptions must be the Anhalt whole milestone, which indicated the distance to the then state capital as VI miles from Dessau , because stone VII miles from Dessau is located further to the west .

These lasting milestones emerged in the 1850s at the earliest. They formed a network across the whole of Dessau. Similar to the Prussian milestones, the Anhalt ones are also under monument protection . The former distance indicator cannot be found in the monument register . The stone apparently belongs to the Chaussee from Dessau via Köthen (Anhalt) and Bernburg to the Harz, the most important east-west connection of Anhalt. However, it is a few hundred meters north of this street, today's Bundesstraße 6 . So presumably it was implemented.

It is special that today Bernburg has both a milestone of the first and once most important Prussian highway in Saxony-Anhalt, the milestone in the south of the city , and a milestone of the once most important Anhalt highway.
