Meinrad Ospelt (politician, 1906)
Meinrad Ospelt (born December 24, 1906 in Vaduz ; † January 11, 1983 there ) was a Liechtenstein politician ( FBP ).
biography
Meinrad Ospelt was the son of Anton Ospelt and his wife Ludwina (née Ospelt). He was a citizen of Vaduz and grew up there in a large family. After graduating from school, he trained as a blacksmith with Bernhard Risch. From 1938 he ran his own blacksmith workshop in Vaduz. Ospelt was a member of the Vaduz municipal council from 1936 to 1960. During this time he held the office of Vice Mayor from 1948 to 1960. From 1958 to 1966 he was a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Liechtenstein . He was then from 1966 to 1972, as the successor to David Strub , mayor of Vaduz. In 1972 he resigned from this office. Hilmar Ospelt , who had already been Vice Mayor of Vaduz since 1969, became the new mayor .
Ospelt was married to Maria Beck since 1938. The marriage had three children.
