The master of Zweder van Culemborg was an illuminator who worked in Utrecht during the Middle Ages between around 1420 and around 1440 . The unknown master got his emergency name after the coat of arms of a bishop, which he placed next to him on a miniature of a crucifixion scene; this donor's coat of arms is intended to identify this cleric as Zweder van Culemborg , a bishop from the Dutch city of Culemborg . He had probably commissioned a missal from the master , in which the picture and 12 other (of a total of 16) pictures from the hand of the master are included. In older literature the painter is also known as Master Pancracius .
