Melakrini Olavo Gambôa , better known under the name Mel Gambôa, also Mel Gamboa , (born May 23, 1984 in Bucharest , Romania ) is a Romanian - Angolan actress, presenter and producer.

Life

Melakrini Olavo Gambôa was born on May 23, 1984 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, into a family of three brothers. Her family - Gambôa had an Angolan father and a Romanian mother - always lived alternately in Angola and Romania. After the mother's death, when Gambôa was four years old, the entire family moved to Luanda (Angola).

There Gambôa completed her school education, and then began, in 1998, theater training with the group Horizonte Nzinga Mbandi . Between 2001 and 2003 she worked as an actress in Madrid for the Spanish theater group Los Sobrinos del Mago de Oz . In 2006 she took part in the Manésema dance group .

In 2007 Mel Gambôa took part in a course for theater, dramaturgy and cinematography by the Angolan Ministry of Culture with the aim of professionalising active actors. In the same year she appeared for the first time on Angolan state television in the telenovela Entre o Crime ea Paixão. She also worked for the Elinga Teatro theater company .

In 2008, the Angolan state television hired TPA Gambôa as a presenter for various programs. Until 2011 she hosted a talk show, a people magazine and a travel show. After Gambôa ended her engagement with the state television broadcaster, in 2012 she founded her own drama school with the name Estúdio de Actores and worked as moderator of the Mel Gamboâ show named after her on the radio station Rádio Despertar. 2013/14 Gambôa worked again in television, at the first private Angolan television station TV Zimbo .

Political positions

Gambôa criticized the Angolan government several times and called on it to enter into a "stronger dialogue" with the people of the country. In addition to her professional activity, Gambôa sees herself as a social activist and, according to her own statements, fights against machismo, violence against women, prostitution, pornography and pedophilia.
