TV Zimbo is a private television station and the first commercial channel in Angola . The station belongs to Media Nova , a private media group that has been broadcasting a full program since 2008 with the support of the Portuguese TV station TVI , ranging from news programs to sports reports to feature films and series. The canal's motto is An Angolan Canal, made by Angolans for Angolans .

The name "Zimbo" comes from a shellfish or clam, no larger than a coffee bean, which occurs on the beaches of the South Atlantic and was used by the local population as a means of payment in the 16th century due to its rarity and perfection.

The headquarters and the recording studios are located in the newly built Luanda Sul district , in the south of the capital. General manager is José Silva Pedro .

The station can be received in Europe via webstream and via the Eutelsat 10A satellite.
