Mel Long, Jr. is a former American American football - Canadian football - and arena football poker players on the position of wide receiver .

Career

Long attended the University of Toledo from 1997 to 2000 , where he played college football for the Toledo Rockets . He ended his career there as one of the most successful receivers in school history.

After he was not selected in the 2001 NFL Draft , the Philadelphia Eagles signed him . He was released in late August 2001. He then moved to the BC Lions from the Canadian Football League (CFL), for which he completed four games. He was released on June 14, 2002. On July 30, 2002, the Eagles signed him again. On August 25, 2002, they released him.

Long then moved to af2 to the Mohegan Wolves , with whom he moved to Manchester after one season. In 2005 he played with the Bakersfield Blitz , and in 2006 and 2007 with the Rio Grande Valley Dorados before returning to the Wolves.

Personal

Long is the son of Mel Long , who also played for the Toledo Rockets and later in the NFL.
