Melanesia Cup 2000
The Melanesia Cup 2000 was the seventh and last regular playout of the tournament for the national soccer teams of Melanesia and took place in April 2000 in Suva , the capital of Fiji . It also served as Melanesia's qualification for the 2000 Oceania Cup . Everyone against everyone was played in a simple league round.
Fiji and the Solomon Islands qualified as the best in the Melanesia Cup for the Oceania Championship 2000. However, due to the political upheaval in the country, Fiji was later excluded and replaced by third-placed Vanuatu.
