Melanie Erasim (born January 23, 1983 in Mistelbach , Lower Austria ) is a politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). From November 9, 2017 to October 22, 2019, she was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

Erasim graduated from Konrad Lorenz Gymnasium in Gänserndorf in 2001 and then studied law at the University of Vienna between 2001 and 2002 . From 2007 to 2009 she studied political communication at Danube University Krems ( Master of Science ). She has been a member of parliament and press spokesperson since 2005. Erasim also worked for ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG . In 2015 she was elected district chairwoman of the SPÖ Mistelbach after she was deputy district chairwoman for ten years. Since 2005 she has also been a member of the Lower Austrian regional party executive committee of the SPÖ. Melanie Erasim was sworn in on November 9, 2017 in the Austrian National Council. After the National Council election in 2019 , she left the National Council.
