Melanie Wiesenthal

Melanie Wiesenthal , artist pseudonym Merquana and Melanie van Rosendaal , (born December 10, 1987 ) is a German author and illustrator of books for young people, children and short stories as well as the founder of the publishing house.

Life

Wiesenthal grew up in the east of Thuringia . After her training as a media designer , she founded Merquana Verlag , which she ran until 2017 and then handed it over to Carow Verlag in Müncheberg . Until 2014 Wiesenthal published short stories and several books under the pseudonym Melanie van Rosendaal . Since 2017 she has been primarily active in drawing and painting.

Elements of her homeland can be found in some of her pictures, such as: B. the Altenburger Residenzschloss . Preferably draws and paints the artist but maritime motifs. In 2016 she moved to Kiel . In 2018 she presented her drawings and paintings on the Kunstmeile Kiel .

The children's book "Anna an der Kieler Förde", published in 2018, describes some of her experiences in Kiel, which she incorporated into the book. The illustrations created for this are also from her hand.
