Melba Ramos
Melba Ramos (* before 1987 in Aguadilla , Puerto Rico ) is an American opera singer ( soprano ).
Life
She received her vocal training at the Pablo Casals Conservatory of Music in San Juan , the capital of Puerto Rico. She was shaped by internationally renowned singing teachers: Giuseppe Di Stefano , Anna Moffo , John Donermann and Renata Scotto . After her stage debut as Despina in Così fan tutte , the artist was a member of the opera studio of the Cologne Opera from 1989 to 1992 , followed by an engagement at the Wuppertal Opera House . Melba Ramos also made guest appearances at the music stages of Berlin, London, Barcelona, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Vienna, Bonn, Bremen, Osnabrück, Mannheim, Bielefeld, Kassel, Salzburg etc. She also made guest appearances at the Schwetzingen Festival in 2001 and in 2002 at the Salzburg Festival , 2008 at the Opern Air Gars am Kamp , 2010 and 2015 at the Heidenheim Opera Festival . The artist has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Vienna Volksoper since the 2004/2005 season . She is the mother of a daughter.
Melba Ramos works with the great conductors of the time such as Marcus R. Bosch , Gustav Kuhn , Nikolaus Harnoncourt , James Conlon , Vladimir Jurowski , Marc Piollet , Christoph Spering and others. a. m.
In addition to her stage presence, Melba Ramos is also active as a lieder and concert singer. Her repertoire ranges from the baroque to the modern and includes the genres opera, operetta, lied and oratorio.
