Marc Piollet
Marc Piollet (* 1962 in Paris ) is a French conductor . From 2004 to 2012 he was general music director at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden .
Live and act
Piollet studied choral conducting and conducting with Hans-Martin Rabenstein at the Berlin University of the Arts . He took master classes with John Eliot Gardiner , Michael Gielen , Kurt Masur and Lothar Zagrosek . After completing his studies, he was employed as first conductor at the Philharmonic State Orchestra in Halle and at the State Theater in Kassel , where he also worked as deputy general music director. He subsequently received an engagement at the Vienna Volksoper . In 2004 Piollet became general music director at the Wiesbaden State Theater . Where he led with great success with audiences and press the entire ring of Richard Wagner . Furthermore, he conducted a. a. New productions by Don Carlos , Idomeneo , Der Freischütz , Rigoletto , Don Giovanni , La Bohème , Falstaff , The Barber of Seville , Simon Boccanegra and Lohengrin . Piollet also conducted a large number of symphony concerts with the Hessian State Orchestra . Piollet ended his activity as general music director in Wiesbaden in 2012 with the conduct of Gustav Mahler's 2nd symphony .
Guest engagements a. a. to the Hamburg State Opera , the Stuttgart State Theater , the Cologne Opera , the Deutsche Oper Berlin , the Vienna State Opera , the music stages of Paris, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Barcelona, etc. He has a close artistic collaboration with the soprano Annette Dasch .
Marc Piollet was at the podium of renowned orchestras of the time, such as u. a. Munich Philharmonic , Gewandhausorchester Leipzig , Bamberg Symphony , Munich Radio Orchestra , Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra and Dresden Philharmonic .
Piollet has been leading a class for orchestral conducting at the University of Art in Graz since October 2016 .
