The Meldia Rock (English; Bulgarian скала Мелдия skala Meldija ) is an east-west split and 220 m long cliff rock off the north-west coast of Nelson Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is 0.8 km north of Smilets Point , 2.2 km east-northeast of Folger Rock , 3.37 km southwest of Withem Island, and 2.43 km west-southwest of Retamales Point .
British scientists mapped it in 1968. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2014 after the Roman camp of Meldia in western Bulgaria .
