Max Terletzki
Justus Maximilian Terletzki (mostly Max Terletzki ; † 1903 ) was an organ builder in Elbing and Königsberg in Prussia .
Life
Max Terletzki's father Joachim Terletzki was an organist in Schönbrück near Allenstein and also worked as an organ builder. Max learned from him and founded an organ building company in Elbing with his brother August in 1857 . In 1860 he went to Paris to Aristide Cavaillé-Coll , where he worked for eleven months as ouvrier en orgues . He then returned to Elbing, where he and his brother had built around 60 organs by 1871.
In 1872 Max Terletzki founded his own organ building company in Königsberg . He is said to have built a total of around 190 organs, plus further modifications and repairs. He created larger three-manual instruments in Thorn ( St. Johannes ), Bartenstein , Kętrzyn ( St. Georg ), both preserved, and Königsberg ( Old Town Church and Altroßgärter Church ). In 1902 Bruno Goebel took over the workshop.
