Location of Maizhokunggar County (pink) in the prefecture-level city of Lhasa (yellow)

Maizhokunggar (also: Meldro Gongkar) is a district in the prefecture-level city of Lhasa in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China . In 1999 it had 40,512 inhabitants. Its main town is the large community of Kunggar (工 卡 镇).
