Melinda Deines (* in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian actress .

life and career

Yours grew up on Vancouver Island , British Columbia . As a teenager she played her first roles in a youth theater group , with which she appeared at local events. She also wrote and edited plays for her theater group. At 16, she played Viola in Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare , which made her the desire to become an actress. She later moved to Toronto . There she attended the Ryerson Theater School , from which she graduated with an acting diploma.

Yours was engaged at the Stratford Festival Theater for two seasons . She appeared there in the plays A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare and The Night of the Iguana by Tennessee Williams . She also took on roles in stage versions of the novels Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark . She played in Seaside Dive at the Glen Morris Studio .

She began her television career in 1995 with two appearances on the series Nancy Drew . The following year she starred in an episode of the TV series Wind at My Back . In 1997 she appeared in three episodes of Fast Track .

Yours gained particular fame through her participation in the television series Mission Earth - You Are Among Us . She played there from 2000 in 44 episodes the role of Juliet Street until the end of the series in 2002. In the same year, she was seen in an episode of Mutant X in a guest role. In 2003 she had a guest role on the Sue Thomas series : FBEye . A year later she worked in Kevin Hall . In 2005 she was in the TV movie Widow on the Hill in the role of Monica Cavanaugh to see. She took part in the crime series The Border in 2008. In the same year she starred in the television movie Bridal Fever .

Yours is also active as a dancer , classical dance teacher and flamenco teacher . In her self-choreographed piece, Clytemnestra's Slaughterhouse , she used flamenco music, live music and lyrics. In September 2006 she held a two-week workshop with the support of Cahoots Theater Projects and the Ontario Arts Council .
