Melinda Mercado (born March 19, 1990 in Sapulpa , Oklahoma ) is an American soccer player who was last under contract with the Boston Breakers in the National Women's Soccer League in the 2013 season.

Career

In early 2012, Mercado was drafted by WPS participant Boston Breakers , but the league was dissolved just before the start of the season. Mercado therefore joined the Oklahoma Alliance team in the WPSL for a year .

In February 2013 Mercado was a so-called free agent by the franchise of the Western New York Flash obligation, but a few days after start of the season and still without mandatory bet to newly established NWSL franchise the Breakers transferred. She made her league debut there on May 11, 2013 in a draw against Washington Spirit , which was Mercado's only season appearance.

National team

Mercado played for the United States U-20 national team in 2009 .
