Melissa O'Neil (born July 12, 1988 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian musician and actress .

Life

Melissa O'Neil grew up in Calgary in the Canadian province of Alberta. She won the casting show Canadian Idol , the Canadian version of Pop Idol , in 2005 . As a result, she released an album named after her.

O'Neil then also appeared as a stage actress. For her role in "Les Miserables" she won the Dora Award 2014 in the category " Outstanding Performance, Theater / Opera (Female) ".

From 2015 to 2017 she appeared in the science fiction series Dark Matter and since 2018 she has played a young woman in the police series The Rookie in Los Angeles.
