Melissandre Pain (born June 5, 1995 in Dreux ) is a former French track cyclist who specialized in the short-term disciplines on the track.

Athletic career

In 2013 Melissandre Pain became Junior World Champion in Keirin, she won silver in the 500-meter time trial and bronze in the sprint . In the same year she was also successful at the Junior European Championships , where she won the title in Sprint, Keirin and 500-meter time trial. In 2014 and 2015 she became vice European champion in the Keirin in the U23 category and also French elite champion in the same discipline. In 2016 she won bronze in the sprint and time trial at the U23 European railway championships, and in 2017 in the Keirin.

In August 2018 Melissandre Pain played her last French championships, where she finished second behind Mathilde Gros in the Keirin . She announced her retirement from competitive cycling for health reasons: After she had been out for a long time because of glandular fever , she broke her wrist . Since then she has lacked the necessary strength. In terms of sport, she plans to take part in marathons with her father from now on . She completed her training at the Ecole Nationale de Kinésithérapie et de REéducation .
