Castle Mem

Mem is a place ( Småort ) in the Swedish municipality of Norrköping , which belongs to the province of Östergötland County .

Mem is best known for its Mem Castle and for the end of the Göta Canal with the transition to the Baltic Sea . The last lock before Slätbaken , a narrow sound in the Baltic Sea, is in Mem . Mem has a good 50 inhabitants. The inauguration of the Göta Canal took place in Mem on September 26th, 1832 in the presence of Sweden's King Karl XIV. Johann .
