Memelland Agriculture Party

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Memelland Agricultural Party ( MLWP ) was the strongest party of the German majority population in the Memelland , based in Heydekrug . It existed from 1925 until it was banned in 1934.

The party was initially a peasant party , which represented bourgeois positions in the middle. From 1933, the party increasingly represented right-wing extremist positions that were shaped by the NSDAP in the Reich.

The chairman was Heinrich Conrad (1888–1941) from 1925 to 1927 and James Charles Gubba (1869–1945) from 1927 to 1934
