Peter Kiefer (born June 13, 1884 in Schaffhausen , Saarlouis district , † after 1943) was a German politician ( center , NSDAP ).

After attending primary school , Kiefer worked in a glass factory for two and a half years, then as a miner until March 1913. In addition, he completed economics and citizenship courses as well as a course at the Academy of Labor at the University of Frankfurt am Main . Since May 1, 1913 Kiefer worked as secretary of the Trade Union of Christian miners of Germany.

On August 5, 1914, Kiefer joined the Prussian Army when the First World War broke out . After a short training period, he moved to the Western Front on October 7 with the 4th Company of the Rhenish Infantry Regiment 17 . On March 2, 1915, he was wounded in combat operations in the west. Later in the war he was used on the Eastern Front . During the war, Kiefer was promoted to deputy officer and was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class, Military Cross of Honor and the Sign of Wounded.

From the end of 1918 he was editor of the organ Der Saarbergknappe . In October 1933 he became head of the German trade union front Saar and chairman of the union of Christian miners Saar. He was also a member of the Saar Regional Council since 1922 : he was a member of this body first as a member of the Center Party , then of the German Front. Since the establishment of the German Front, Kiefer was a member of the state management and state propaganda leader of this organization.

Around 1930 Kiefer joined the NSDAP, for which he appeared as a Gauredner . On January 1, 1936, Kiefer took over the management of the works newspaper department of the Saar mine administration.

On March 1, 1935, Kiefer joined the National Socialist Reichstag in accordance with Section 2 of the Saarland Representation Act in the Reichstag , which he then belonged to as a member of constituency 27 (Rheinpfalz-Saar) until the end of Nazi rule.

Kiefer distinguished himself as a journalist by publishing articles on the Saar region , Saar mining, Saar miners and the working class in the Saar region in magazines and daily newspapers.

From the beginning of July 1938 he worked for the Reichsknappschaft. Kiefer held the office of miners' union director in Saarbrücken in 1943 .
