So he tells from the years 1944 and 1945: His squad lets an attacking Nazi survive by showing the photo of his boy, in December a squad of German soldiers is repelled in the snow. Shortly before the end of the war, after a successful attack, a returning soldier is killed by a 13-year-old Hitler Youth .
In 2005 Kyle is now a platoon sergeant in the Iraq war. Numerous soldiers and civilians are killed in a suicide attack in front of the base. A suspicious Al-Qaeda target cannot be located because his suspected hiding place is empty. Shortly after the disappointing termination of the mission, Kyle receives news of his grandfather's death. When he returned, he said goodbye to his wife and son at the grave.
criticism
Kino.de says: “An ambitiously produced and patriotic American war drama of the second budget league draws an arc from the Second World War to the present day Iraq with a frame story connecting both locations, in which“ Babe ”farmer James Cromwell tells stories from back then to the youngsters . Played convincingly, not as hectically assembled in the battle scenes as elsewhere, you can even see who is shooting at whom, and with what result. "
