Mendeed was a Scottish metalcore band from Dumbarton that was active from 2000 to 2007.

history

The band was formed in 2000. At first the band was a pure hobby for the musicians. Two years later, the band begins to write their own songs. In December 2003 the band signed a contract with the British label Rising Records. The first release was the EP From Shadows Came Darkness , which was released in September 2004. Songs from this EP have been played on all major British rock and metal radio stations. A live session was even broadcast on the BBC . In December of the same year a video clip was shot for the single Ignite The Flames , which was put into rotation by MTV 2 and Scuzz TV. Mendeed quickly became acquainted with small circles in the scene. In 2005 the band was constantly on tour and accompanied various bands such as Avenged Sevenfold , Bleeding Through , Cradle of Filth , Dragonforce , God Forbid , Fear Factory and Slipknot .

In the meantime one could get hold of a contract with Nuclear Blast , which on June 23, 2006 release the debut album This War Will Last Forever . This was followed by a European tour with Born from Pain and Napalm Death . Her second album The Dead Live by Love was released in spring 2007 .

At the moment there is a rumor in fan circles that the band has split up. Mendeed were taken from line-ups that had already been confirmed (such as at Wacken Open Air ) without comment and their official homepage can no longer be reached. On September 4th, guitarist Steven Nixon confirmed what the rumors had suggested:

"Mendeed have regrettably broken up due to irreconcilable difference with our manager, we would like to thank all of our fans for believing in us and helping us get as far as we did. I really wish things would have turned out different for us. Thanks to everyone that had faith in us, we'll miss you all. "
