The menhir of Butzbach is a prehistoric menhir near Butzbach in the Wetterau district in Hesse . The buried stone was discovered in 1978 and erected again.
location
The stone is located in the north of the city on the western side of federal highway 3 in a bush.
description
The menhir is made Taunus - quartzite . It is plate-shaped and tapers towards the top. The stone has a total height of 272 cm, a width of 125 cm and a depth of 80 cm. The thickest and widest part is under the earth. The part visible above ground has a height of 170 cm, a width of 120 cm and a depth of 70 cm.
