The menhir of Pierre Blanche stands in a field near the hamlet of Pierre Blanche, about three kilometers west of Oudon in the far east of the Loire-Atlantique department in France . A menhir of the same name, similarly high, is located in Pocé-les-Bois in the Ille-et-Vilaine department . The Dolmen de la Pierre Blanche is located near Bessé in the Charente department .

It is a stone made of white quartz about 4.3 meters high and about 3.0 meters wide at its widest point. Several flint - Axes were found near him.

According to legend, the stone rotates once every year at midnight, but only the elves know the date.

The menhir has been classified as a monument historique since 1970 .
