Mercedesz Csampai (born April 23, 1991 ) is a Swedish musical performer with Russian and Hungarian roots. In Germany she became known for the role of Sarah in the musical Tanz der Vampire .

Life

Csampai started her musical, dance and acting training at an early age, as her parents are both musicians (father: violinist, mother: opera singer). She trained as a pianist and violinist at the Junior Academy Music College, Stockholm. In 2010 she trained as a musical actress at the Performing Arts School in Gothenburg. She was able to perfect her acting talent in London by taking part in various drama workshops by British actor and director Charles Dance and the Academy of Science of Acting and Directing.

Already during her school and college days, Csampai took part in various productions in Sweden. For example, she played Nala in Disney’s The Lion King , the beautiful Mina in Frank Wildhorn’s Dracula , Nancy in Oliver Twist and the young Sabrina in the Swedish film I was called Sabrina Spielrein .

In 2012 she took part in Lena Philipsson's Dream Show as a dancer and supported the Dröse & Norberg Company as a singer and musician in various productions, including a. at Le Rouge, Studio 54 and Rock'n Roll.

On January 25, 2013 she made her German debut as Sarah in Tanz der Vampire for 177 shows in the Theater des Westens . She then played for four months in the Russian adaptation of The Little Mermaid in Moscow as a so-called swing (= all female ensemble parts) and Arielle double. In March 2014 she played Eponine in Les Misérables at the Aarhus Music Theater in Denmark. In October 2014 she played the supporting role of Hannibal Princess in The Phantom of the Opera in Moscow. In the same production she covers the role of Christine.
