The Mercik Peak is a distinctive and 1425 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises 11 km northeast of Mount Wells in the Prince Olav Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after James E. Mercik, aurora scientist for the United States Antarctic Research Program at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the winter of 1965.
