Merita de Jesus Marques

Merita de Jesus Marques (born November 22, 1969 ) is an agronomist and activist from East Timor . It comes from the Passabe administrative office .

In 2007, Marques was sent to the Council of State for five years by President José Ramos-Horta . On October 12, 2012, she appointed President Taur Matan Ruak as a member of the State Council for a further five years. As planned, the membership of Marques ended in 2017.

Marques is the director of the Fundasaun Esperansa Enclave Oe-cusse (FEEO). As a representative of FEEO, she was a member of the board of directors of the women's rights organization Rede Feto Timor Leste from 2015 to 2018 , in which several national organizations work together.
