The Merrell Valley is a long, narrow and ice-free valley in the Convoy Range in East Antarctica Victoria Land . It runs from its head end immediately east of Mount Gunn in a northerly direction and merges into the Greenville Valley .
The New Zealand Northern Group of the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) mapped the valley in 1957 and named it after the USNS Private Joseph F. Merrell , a cargo ship of the US associations in McMurdo Sound from 1956 to 1957.
