Marinko Madžgalj (born August 21, 1978 in Belgrade , SFR Yugoslavia ; † March 26, 2016 there ) was a Serbian actor , singer and television presenter .

life and career

Marinko Madžgalj was born on August 21, 1978 in Belgrade in what was then the SFR Yugoslavia and grew up in the coastal city of Kotor , in present-day Montenegro . At an advanced age he attended the Faculty of Performing Arts at the University of the Arts in Belgrade under the acting teacher Gordana Marić and graduated in 2000. During this time he was active in acting classes alongside Vanja Ejdus , Jelena Stupljanin or Tamara Krcunović . Subsequently, from 2012 he was a permanent member of Atelje 212 , one of the most famous Serbian theaters. Furthermore, Madžgalj, who was married to the ten years older actor Dubravka Mijatović until 2014 and had a daughter (* 2009) with her, was also at the Yugoslavian Theater (Jugoslovensko dramsko pozorište; JDP) , at the National Theater Belgrade , at the Bitef Theater , at the Slavija Theater , at the Pozorište Dadov , at the Vuk Karadžić Cultural Center as well as on other theaters.

For years he belonged to the duo Flamingosi , known in Serbia , which consisted of Marinko Madžgalj and Ognjen Amidžić . The duo won the Beovizija music festival together with the singer Louis in 2006 . With Amidžić he was also part of this duo in the Ćao, Darvine program . In 2003 he played in the Serbian television series Lisice or Kazneni prostor and in the same year took on a prime role as Ceda Velja in the series Crni Gruja and the films based on it, in which he was also seen as Veselin Cegovic . Over the years he was used in various other television series, including the year he died when he was seen as Saner in the Balkan series Dojč Caffe . He mostly took part in comedy series and sitcoms, but also had appearances in film productions.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2015 and underwent emergency surgery in August of the same year. After that, his condition initially improved. In March 2016, his health deteriorated rapidly. Madžgalj died on March 26, 2016.
