The Merrick Point is an ice-covered headland at the Walgreen Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It is located on the Bear Peninsula on the east side of the Hamilton Piedmont Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped them on the basis of measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from the years 1959 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1977 after Dale Merrick of Stanford University , atmospheric researcher and scientific director of the Siple station in Antarctic winter 1975.
