Mesdjeru

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mesdjeru ( ancient Egyptian in transcription Ms-ḏr.w ) was the name of a high official of the Old Kingdom , whose exact period of activity is unclear. His term of office is dated from the second half of the 5th dynasty to the beginning of the 6th dynasty at the latest .

biography

Mesdjeru carried high titles such as "Royal scribe " ( Sesch-nesu ), "Confidant of the king" ( Rech-nesu ), "Inspector of the strong-on-voice of the treasury" and "Overseer of the gold deposits ". He was married to a lady named Hetep-neferet . This carried the high title of "confidante of the king". It is unknown which king ( pharaoh ) Mesdjeru served, in an inscription he names Neferirkare as the last regent in a short list of kings , which is why it is assumed that he took office not long after this.

tomb

Mesdjeru was probably buried in Mastaba G 1011 in Giza . His name was discovered there on a lintel . The mastaba was looted by grave robbers in ancient times . She was best known for finding the writing tablet from Giza .
