Eduard Hütter

Eduard Hütter (born March 29, 1880 in Vienna , † October 15, 1967 in Salzburg) was an Austrian architect , state curator , designer, set designer, organ prospectus designer and lecturer. From 1913 to 1945 he was the state curator for Salzburg .

Life

After graduating from the Stiftsgymnasium Melk , he studied at the Technical University of Vienna from 1898 to 1905 and worked in Max von Ferstel's studio from 1905 to 1907 . He then worked as a freelance architect in Vienna. In 1910 he was appointed lecturer for structural engineering, building drawing, building yard exercises, building drafting, drafting and perspective at the kk Deutsche Staatsgewerbeschule in Pilsen .

In 1913, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este appointed him technical state curator for the Duchy of Salzburg , where he proved himself after initial "cock fights" with his counterpart, the art history curator Hans Folnesics (mainly thanks to generous donations from Archduke Franz Ferdinand, who owned this crown land was especially dear to the heart).

Among the most important buildings by Eduard Huetter are, in addition to numerous smaller projects in Bohemia and the city and state of Salzburg, the Blauensteiner house in Vienna 7 (1906–1908), the New Parish Church in Schenna , South Tyrol (1909–1931), and the Ghibellinenhaus in Vienna 5 (1929–1930) and the construction of the first festival hall for Salzburg (1925).

From 1945, following his work as a state curator, until his death in 1967, Eduard Hütter worked on the design of organ prospectuses in cooperation with the organ building company Dreher and Reinisch .

Eduard Hütter's estate has been kept in the Salzburg Museum since 2012 .
