Hans Folnesics

Hans Folnesics (born July 24, 1886 in Vienna ; † June 6, 1922 there ) was an Austrian art historian .

Life

Hans Folnesics was the son of the art historian Josef Folnesics (1850-1914). He studied art history at the University of Vienna under Julius von Schlosser and at the Institute for Austrian Historical Research and received his doctorate in 1912. In 1913 he became secretary of the K. K Central Commission for Research and Conservation of Art and Historical Monuments and art historical state curator of Salzburg . In 1919 he took early retirement.
