Mesías Maiguashca
Mesías Maiguashca (born December 24, 1938 in Quito ) is an Ecuadorian composer .
Act
He is a representative of new music , especially electronic music in the environment of Karlheinz Stockhausen .
His musical training took place at the Conservatorio de Quito, the Eastman School of Music, Rochester , NY, the Instituto di Tella Buenos Aires and at the Cologne University of Music .
Maiguashca worked in the electronic music studio of Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne and at various other places of activity in Europe. He had lectureships a. a. in Metz , Stuttgart , Basel and Quito. From 1990 to 2004 he was professor for electronic music at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg im Breisgau . Maiguashca was a founding member of the Freiburg composers interest group. He is a member of the New Music Network Baden-Württemberg .
