The Meteorite Hills are a group of hills that form the western part of the Darwin Mountains with a length of 13 miles . They tower between the upper sections of the Darwin Glacier and the Hatherton Glacier .
The name was suggested by the American seismologist John Owen Annexstad (* 1932) from the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center , in memory of the work of the Antarctic Search for Meteorites program under the direction of the geologist William A. Cassidy from the University of Pittsburgh in from 1978 to 1979.
