The Metzgar Nunatak is a 1700  m high nunatak in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 5 km south of the Tollefson Nunatak in the group of the Yee Nunatakker .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys, aerial photographs by the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967 and Landsat photographs from 1973 and 1974. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after John M. Metzgar Jr. (* 1938), who was part of the satellite survey team at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the Antarctic winter of 1978.
