Metzgerei Boggnsagg is a radio satire by the Franconian cabaret artist and author Bernd Regenauer in East Franconian dialect , which was broadcast from 1997 to 1999 and again on Antenne Bayern since 2011 .

The entire plot of the series takes place in the Boggnsagg couple's butcher shop in the Schweinau district of Nuremberg . Various regular customers appear again and again in the individual episodes lasting around two to three minutes. The plot of the individual episodes ranges from funny conversations to current discussions, to puns and satirical allusions to regional issues . The characters appearing are exaggeratedly drawn representatives of various social milieus . The sentence: “Wou issn is brain?” Is repeated in every episode. In the past, the doorbell rang in every episode, and a voice introduced as “Mr. Metz” asked about absurd things, such as: “Do you have an Italian cockroach with a technical diploma?” “Well, hommer nedd.” “Well, yes, yes, then adee " . "Butcher Boggnsagg" has in Bavaria , especially in Swiss francs , cult status . The series was continued for several years at Radio Gong Nürnberg and returned to Antenne Bayern in 2011. In this new version the staff consists of the butcher Boggnsagg and his apprentice Schalodde as well as the regular customers Ms. Taubertal and Mr. Nüsterlitz.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the butcher's shop Boggnsagg, a special live reading with the current original speakers will be played on some Franconian cabaret stages from February 2017.

Trivia

Der Spiegel called “Metzgerei Boggnsagg” a “ jewel among German comedy series ”. Due to the great popularity of the series, cars with the Antenne Bayern sticker “Wou issn is brain” are still on the road today.
