The Mevlana Mosque in Stadtprozeltener district Brasselsberg Castle is a 1990 Islamic house of prayer for mainly ethnic Turkish Muslims . The official name of the mosque is Mevlana Camii Stadtprozelten in Turkish ( German : Mevlana-Moschee Stadtprozelten ). It bears its name based on the religious title Mawlānā ( Turkish Mevlana ), which is particularly widespread in Central and South Asia and is usually carried as a title before the actual name. The mosque is the mosque association Turkish Islamic community to Stadtprozelten e. V. , which is a member of the umbrella organization DİTİB .
location
The mosque is located at Füllgrube 5 in the Brasselburg district of the city and is surrounded by a general residential area.
history
The Mevlana Mosque was opened in 1990. It was a normal residential building that was converted into a mosque. In the 2010s, renovations took place, for example wall openings and structural extensions. In addition to the renovation of the washrooms and a kitchen extension, a conference room and a terrace were added.

The mosque association Turkish-Islamic Community for Stadtprozelten e. V. is a member of the Turkish-Islamic Union of the Institute for Religion e. V. (DİTİB). The umbrella organization DİTİB represents over 960 municipalities nationwide.
