Mewang ( Dzongkha : སྨད་ ཝང་ ) is one of eight Gewogs (blocks) of the Dzongkhag Thimphu in western Bhutan . Mewang Gewog is in turn divided into five Chiwogs (constituencies). According to the census of 2005, 4743 people live in this area in an area of ​​223 km².

The Gewog is located west of the capital Thimphu and is one of the more accessible and better developed Gewogs. It extends over altitudes between 2120 and 4572  m . The population is engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, the most important crops are rice, wheat, mustard, asparagus and potatoes.
