The family business Meyer Menu in Bielefeld was founded in 1963 and is one of the leading providers of freshly cooked lunch menus today. In addition to the headquarters and the largest production facility in Bielefeld, there are five other production and 25 sales locations. The company employs z. Currently about 1000 employees. Around 70,000 menus are delivered every day.
history
In 1963 Dieter Meyer and his wife Ursula Meyer took over the Groll butcher shop in Bielefeld / East Westphalia. Step by step, they expanded the existing snack bar to a pure menu service. Due to the constant growth, new premises had to be built in the Oldentrup industrial area (Bielefeld), which were completed and occupied in 1984. In the same year, the first sales partner was won and Meyer Menu's delivery area was further expanded. Initially, the delivery area was limited to Ostwestfalen-Lippe .
In 1989 Dieter and Ursula Meyer handed over the business to their two sons Thomas and Stephan Meyer and withdrew from active business. The sons continued to expand so that further franchisees could be won. Gradually, additional production and sales locations followed in northern and southern Germany. Meyer Menu currently operates large kitchens in Bielefeld, Büren , Siek (near Hamburg), Hanover, Hattingen and Neuenstadt am Kocher , which supply the sales branches with freshly prepared lunch menus every day. As of November 1, 2019, Menke Menue GmbH with the kitchen location in Bremen and the sales location in Schwarmstedt was taken over by Compass Group Germany and integrated into the Meyer Menu Group.
