Mhow ( Hindi महू Mahū ; also Dr. Ambedkar Nagar ) is a garrison town, a class I cantonment board , in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh .
Mhow is located in the metropolitan area of Indore - 20 km southwest of the city center. The city of Mhow was founded in 1818 as a British military base. At the 2011 census, its population was 81,702. The city is divided into 8 wards .
