Nobody misses me! is a German documentary from 2016 .

content

Evi can no longer leave the apartment after two leg amputations. There are no visits from friends. TV programs, strictly adhered to meal times and checking the lottery numbers give your everyday life structure.

Video recordings from the early days of the reunification show Evi - before her gender reassignment operation - among other things at her last job in the Robotron plant in Radeberg , shortly before its closure.

shape

In monologues that sometimes last for minutes, which are only carefully interrupted by the voice of the filmmaker from off, Evi takes stock of her life. The camera rests on the protagonist. Details of the apartment are only shown during breaks in conversation. The colors disappear under a gray haze, which is intensified by the constant underexposure of the film recordings.

Trivia

In an article in the MDR culture magazine artour on April 13, 2018, filmmaker Erik Lemke explains that the recordings were originally intended only to record their own family history, as he and Evi - although largely related - got to know each other late. The revelation of the old VHS videos only led to the idea of an independent film through the vivid glimpse into the past that was now possible.
